All activities
They offer daycare and after-school care for approximately 300 children whose parents work or are no longer able to care for their children (often due to addiction). They also offer parenting programs and skills development courses for new parents. They also have programs for youth, such as dance and soccer groups, inspirational sessions, therapy, and skills development such as resume building and basic digital skills. For adults, they also offer numerous projects and training to help them progress—meaning generate income. They teach sewing and beading, and there's an organic garden where they learn how to grow food on barren land, English, and computer classes. Finally, Where Rainbows Meet distributes food twice a day (porridge, bread, and sometimes soup) and provides 750,000 meals annually. Many people queue every day, but not everyone can be fed.
Through these comprehensive programs, Where Rainbows Meet strengthens the Vrygrond community and helps individuals build a better future.

About the founder
Mymoena Scholtz is a South African community leader and founder of the non-profit Where Rainbows Meet Training and Development Foundation. Since 2008, she has been committed to the socio-economic empowerment of women, youth, and vulnerable families in Vrygrond, one of the oldest informal settlements in the Western Cape.
After her children left, Scholtz decided to dedicate her life to community service. She took a business administration course at the New World Foundation in Lavender Hill, which led to an internship and ultimately a position as a life skills trainer. She worked there for twelve years and developed a deep passion for community development.
In 2008, Scholtz founded Where Rainbows Meet, inspired by the call from older women in Vrygrond to continue her work. Her primary motivation was love and respect for the people, and especially the women, of Vrygrond, with whom she had previously worked.
Scholtz strongly believes in the power of community and the role of women as driving forces for positive change. She emphasizes the importance of patience and building trust within the community. Her work is rooted in the principle of "ubuntu," the belief in shared humanity and mutual support.
Scholtz's dedication has led to recognition both nationally and internationally. Among other honors, she has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Kromboom.
